Mom's morning texts:

Dad is getting his chemo treatment now. Labs were ok. Asked dr about a stronger cough med but he said to continue with the tussin he is taking. His pain med has codeine in it so it should also calm his cough. They had the number of treatments confused. They thought it was four not give. They omitted the one on Feb 29. Doctor did not order chest X-ray today since he doesn't have or has had any fever. He is to have his scans next week for staging. I thought it was to be after his last treatment but the nurse said after four. That is when we discussed the confusion on the number of treatments. Hospital will call with date for scans. Has something he has to drink. A contrast. Pretty [sleepy] as he didn't get much rest due to cough.

That was to be five not give!

Mom's evening text:

Evening update. We got home at 6:15. Dad as before is feeling good. No pain med and no coughing fit even since 3 this afternoon. Wish he could have some of that good stuff every day so he could feel good. He mainly needs sleep so if he could keep the cough under control he would. We will hope so. Had trouble with the pump and had to back in to get it working right three times before we even got on the elevator. Thankfully! Hope it all goes well now. So far so good.
