Deb, Barney, and I left Toledo at 11:30 a.m. Stopped at Buck Rd exit in Rossford for seat rearrangements. Deb moved into the backseat to work on her laptop without interference from Barney who likes to sit and stand on Deb's lap and look out the window. We assumed Barney would remain in the passenger's seat, but he hopped into the backseat with Deb. I drove the trip to Barnesville with Deb and Barney, riding in the backseat.
We arrived in Barnesville at 3:15 p.m. NC and MN (minus Jay) arrived on Friday.
CP and Brad arrived at approx 7:00 p.m. Jay arrived shortly thereafter. Dad didn't know that Jay would visit.
In the late afternoon and evening, Dad visited in the upstairs living room for a little while, rested in one of the upstairs bedrooms, then came back out to visit, and then rested again.
Late Saturday afternoon, Pap fed the bird feeders. He checked the Gilbertson-style bluebird house, located in the backyard that the bluebirds are using for nesting. The house contained the beginnings of a nest. Some grasses were shaped into a circle.
During the late afternoon, Jeff, Barney, and I stayed outside for a long time, sitting in the sun and/or shade. Pap stayed out with us for a while too. It was a pleasant afternoon. Occasionally, some nieces would stop outside. Kate was chatty.
Mom made a tasty dinner of ham, cheesy potato casserole, and a sald.
On Saturday evening, March 26, we celebrated Dad's birthday, which is April 1.
The chocolate cake was a circle or bundt with a hole. Lexie said it was "shaped like a doughnut." Cake contained chocolate frosting with sprinkles because Pap likes doughnuts with sprinkles.
The cake contained a number 75 candles. We sang happy birthday and Pap blew out the candles.
The ice cream came from the nearby Dairy Queen, which existed when we were kids.
Pap opened gifts.
During the evening, Pap complained of nausea. He ate some dinner. He did have extras on the ice cream.
I setup our Roku box with their upstairs TV. Mom and Dad could test. We watched Andy Griffith episodes on Netflix. Jeff and I watched some Star Trek. We dialed up the Gorn episode for Dad per his request. He has mentioned this episode for many years.
Dad watched Andy Griffith on Netflix and he fell asleep in his chair late. I went to sleep around Midnight.
Lexie, Kate, and Kenzie slept on air mattresses in the basement. Miranda slept upstairs. Deb and I slept on the pull-out couch in the basement. Barney slept on the recliner next to the pull-out couch. This basement recliner was Dad's chair when viewing satellite TV.
