Throughout this morning, Dad seemed more like back in February. Tired, soft-spoken, and slow-moving, although he moves deliberately when he does feel better.

We left for Wheeeling around 1:20 pm. Dad ate very little if anything today at home before leaving for Wheeling.

He didn't feel like eating. Nausea from the chemo was a bit bothersome.

At about 2:20 pm, Dad was called back. Mom went too. Since no extra chairs existed in the treatment area, I remained in the waiting room.

Today Dad returns the chemo pump. We thought that it might be a relatively short visit, but now the doctor decided to give Dad fluids.

Mom text at about 3:10 pm:

They are giving dad fluids so it will be a while. He is not very happy. I will be going to get something to drink in a little while. I ordered him something so I may wait till he gets it.

It might take a couple hours to give the fluids.

It's a sunny, windy day with temps at least in the mid 60s. We saw a magnolia tree in B'ville that was starting to bloom. March 16 seems early for that even in southeast Ohio.

Chairs became available in treatment area. Is went back at 3:30 pm.

At 3:40 pm, Dad asked Mom how the stock market was doing. Dad resting. Will probably sleep while receiving fluids.

At 4:00 pm, Mom and I went to the cafeteria to eat. The IV meter said 50 min remained on the fluids.

Dad stopped taking the diuretic last Wednesday evening.

Mom said that if Dad did not have cancer and he wasn't taking the chemo the blood clots in the lung would dissolve in 1 to 2 months. But it will take longer now.

On Monday of this week, that was Dad's third chemo treatment. Because Dr. Shinn thought Dad seemed week, Dad has only received two of the three chemo drugs at all three treatments. And after the first treatment, one of the two drugs was reduced by 25%.

Hopefully, Dad is stronger over the next 10 to 12 days.

Dr Shinn wants Dad to expand his lung capacity with some exercise or movement. This will help rid the blood clots faster.

We left the hospital at about 4:50 pm. Dad seemed better than when we arrived.
